Barrack Obama is Sick of His BlackBerry and So Am I!
Are you using a BlackBerry?
According to Business Insider, Mr Obama wants an iPhone and criticized BlackBerry at a recent event. Now this one is coming from the President of the United States, who was well known of his fondness of Blackberry Phones.
I guess it’s pretty normal that after years of using the same operating system, seeing everyone near you getting the “shiny apple stuff” a.k.a the iPhone, you will be fed up with the berry.
Here’s what he said (from BusinessInsider.com)
At a Chicago fundraiser Head Obama wаѕ listened mаkіnɡ thе following criticism аbουt hіѕ BlackBerry: “Thе Oval Office, we always thουɡht we wаѕ going tο hаνе unequivocally сοοƖ phones аnԁ stuff. I’m Ɩіkе, c’mon guys, I’m thе conduct οf thе United States. Whеrе’s thе imagination buttons аnԁ things аnԁ thе hυɡе screen? It doesn’t happen.”
Ha! It seems that it’s true that everyone wants bigger screen and Apple logo on their phone.
Blackberry Users Want To Switch To iPhone
According to the very same article, an assessment from researchers on Crowd Science in March 2010 revealed that 39% of current Blackberry owners would certainly switch to an iPhone once their contract expired. They said BlackBerry is too business oriented and lacking the fun things.
Me Too!
So, just like Mr Obama, I too am sick of my blackberry, a Bold 9700. Here’s why:
- It emits nasty radiation (it becomes very very hot when you use it for couple of minutes),
- browsing is very slow, and
- the apps are darn expensive.
Talking about the apps, I invested in few apps that just make this thing perform better.. like network accelerator, memory booster, and stuffs like that.
Heck, why do I have to buy $10 per apps to make this thing run faster? And the clock thingy is still there!
“C’mon phone, don’t freeze up!!”
But I Can’t Let You Go, Baby
However I can’t afford to part with my BlackBerry. No, it’s not about the Blackberry messenger (which you can easily substitute with WhatsApp by the way), but it’s all about the connectivity, namely the push email service.
Receiving emails, reading them, and replying them are so stupidly simple I can even write replies without looking at my phone, thanks to the QWERTY keyboard. As I am dealing with lots of emails on daily basis, this flawless integration is very important to my workflow.
I imagined that I won’t be able to do that if I switch to those giant-touch-screen phones.
Sadly that’s the only positive thing that I can think of my BlackBerry right now, and it still can’t kill my urge to switch into other phone.
So are you using a Blackberry? Do you like it or do you hate it? Drop me some comments below!
Read MoreHow to Extend Blackberry Battery Life
Hi there! Today’s bread is about Blackberry. These smart phones are very handy, but the battery is not the greatest in the market. Here are some tips on how to extend your blackberry battery life.
1. Bluetooth drains your battery very fast. If you are not using a bluetooth headset or using the bluetooth for any other reason, turn it off.
- How: go to the Manage Connections folder and uncheck the bluetooth box.
2. Wi-Fi is another battery drainer. If you are not using any wi-fi connection, turn the wi-fi off.
- How: go to Manage Connections folder and uncheck the Wi-Fi box.
3. If you use a program, but do not close it all the way, that program will continue running in the background. It will help your battery to close open programs.
- How: hold down the menu key, a box will open showing the open programs. For example, if a game is running, select it. It will take you into the game so you can then exit the game correctly.
4. Vibrate and loud volume modes can also drain the battery.
- How: Press menu, select Sounds, select Edit Profiles, turn off vibrate in message or isntant message or whichever thing you don’t want your phone to vibrate
5. Have your Blackberry power off automatically when you are not using it. This is useful during sleeping hours.
- How: Go to the Settings folder and then the Options folder. Highlight and select Auto On/Off. From this menu you can set a specific time for the Bold to turn off and then to turn back on. You can even set different times for the weekdays or weekends
6. If there are no service signals, turn off your Blackberry bold or put it in airplane mode. Searching for signal consumes a lot of battery power.
- How: go to Manage Connection and uncheck Mobile Network
That’s it! I hope it helps. Next time I will post an article on how to make your blackberry faster.
